Atmospheric Vacuum Breakers
The Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker (AVB) consists of an air inlet valve, a check seat and an air inlet port(s). The AVB may only be used to prevent backsiphonage but it may be used to protect against either a pollutant or a contaminant. AVBs must be installed at least 6 inches above all downstream piping and outlets and may not be subjected to continuous line pressure.
